Let me help you save money! There are many money-saving apps out there! So many. Which ones are worth your time? The app from your grocery store; both Hannaford and Shaws have rewards apps. I use the rebate app called iBotta every week which you can use at hundreds of stores. Other apps that I use every week include CVS, Rite-Aid, Fetch Rewards, ReceiptPal, Checkout51, SavingStar, Coupons.com, Flipp, Dollar General, and Family Dollar.
I’ll share information about the iBotta app since it can be used at many stores. You have to use the ibotta app within seven days of signing up with a code to get bonus money in your account. That means that if you use the code to my account you and I will each get a bonus amount of rebate money deposited in our iBotta account. The bonus money differs each month, sometimes it is $5 for each referral, sometimes $10. So be sure to sign up when you are ready to try it.
Don’t sign up and then let the app sit there without using it like I did because I didn’t know I had to use it in seven days.
Use my iBotta code:
Go to the site on a computer browser if you prefer to set it up on a computer, but you’ll still need to download the app on your cell phone. Keep track of your password! I have a notebook of my passwords, but I also use the Notes app on my phone and save in my email drafts. It’s best to keep your passwords in more than one location.
If you download the app without creating your account on the computer first, during the sign up process simply enter
fdfciya
as “promo code” during sign up process in the app. The place to enter the “promo code” is tricky to find. I’ve had friends who signed up and didn’t realize they missed the place to enter that code.
That’s why, if you have a computer and use the link above instead of the code, I believe the link already has the code in the sign up process.
Open the ibotta app and find offers for the store you will be shopping at. BEFORE you shop, select the offers you think you will use on your shopping trip. After you shop, open the app and REDEEM your offers. Some stores require you to take a photo of your receipt (you can take pictures of long receipts in sections) and other stores allow you to link your reward card to ibotta so you must use your reward card when you shop and ibotta automatically gets your receipt (Hannaford lets you link your reward card to the ibotta app).
Example: I shop at Hannaford. I have a rewards account at Hannaford that I created on my computer. I downloaded the Hannaford app, too, so I can add coupons from the Hannaford app on the fly. On the Hannaford phone app, and on the computer in Account, you can find your Hannaford rewards number.
Enter your Hannaford rewards number in the ibotta app. That links your Hannaford and ibotta accounts. Now when you shop at Hannaford and you get to the cash register, enter your cell phone number affiliated with your Hannaford rewards account and this info will be used to deduct your Hannaford app coupons and also sent to ibotta so that all the money-back offers you selected in the ibotta app before you went shopping will be rebated into your ibotta app. Hannaford gives you money off your purchase immediately while ibotta rebates it into your ibotta account.
Once your offers have been approved, ibotta deposits money in your ibotta account. When you have $20 in your ibotta account you can cash it in as Amazon gift certificates or deposited in your PayPal account, among other choices.
I’ve used it with purchases at Walmart, RiteAid, Dollar General, Dollar Tree, CVS, Hannaford. iBotta is adding more mobile in-app purchase rebates all the time.
