These protein shakes aren’t meant to be meal replacements but I find that drinking one of them is very filling and I can’t eat anything with it. I chose NOW SPORTS Whey Protein Isolate unflavored protein powder because it contains no sugar, salt, starch, wheat, gluten, corn, egg or preservatives.

It mixes easily with water but I usually mix it with an unsweetened nut milk such as almond. It has a really high volume of protein because it is an isolate: 25g per serving!

This protein powder dissolves easily.

I mix it with banana, honey, cocoa, cinnamon and turmeric.

My protein powder is unflavored. You must add flavorings!

Of course, if you read my recent article, “Response to Week 2 Challenge: Food Storage,” you’ll know that I threw away my powdered peanut butter which is also good to add to a smoothie made with this protein powder.

I also like the taste of Matcha tea powder added to a smoothie without the cocoa powder.
