The coffee and tea challenge was real! Once again, just like when I cleaned and organized the refrigerator, it was easier to clean than it was to organize. Where to start?
I followed the challenge’s steps by emptying the shelves of all coffee mugs, tea cups, travel mugs, etc., and put them all together to see what I was dealing with. I could see that there were more travel mugs and coffee mugs than could fit in the two cabinets above the coffee maker.
So I weeded out the coffee cups. I based my decisions on whether to keep or not by looking for cracks and chips, scuffed and stained. Those got put in the garage sale or DIY craft pile. I’m not keeping any of the saucers that came with the sets. In the garage sale/craft pile.
After washing and lining the cupboards, I put the selected mugs back on the shelves. The seasonal ones went on the top shelf. The big, hefty ones went on the middle shelf with the YETI mugs in front. The ones used every day went on the bottom shelf. I kept about 30 mugs because I have the space now.
I purchased a few clear plastic bins to organize the flavored K-cups, tea, and various types of sweeteners. You can go to the nearest dollar store and get some plastic organizers or save the time and click on my affiliate link to get these at Dollar General online!
I think the organizing came out really good but because I don’t have a matching set of mugs, I have to say the cupboard looks a little haphazard.
