What to wear for The Maine Look
Do you wonder what to wear on a daily basis? Wish someone would plan your wardrobe for you? Sometimes it can be downright frustrating to decide what to wear each day!
My wardrobe plan can help you achieve a stylish wardrobe to wear in the beautiful state of Maine. Whether you live in Maine, visit often or infrequently, my wardrobe plan will help you simplify your life.
FLEXIBILITY
The Maine Look will be just a small part of your total wardrobe. You can use pieces that you already own and mix and match them with the outfits I’ve put together. There is a lot of flexibility between outfits especially when your clothes can be mixed and they match!
MIX CLASSIC, TRENDY
I like to mix timeless classics and trendy pieces, but ultimately, I like to put together outfits that are comfortable. Choose your own color palette. My favorite colors are gray and navy. I prefer distressed denim and my perfect fit is a flare leg or boot cut because they elongate your legs (I’m short!) but I have found a new love for skinny distressed jeans, but you should choose jeans that you are comfortable in. Never worry about what size you are, it’s all about comfort and fit!
When you have a mix-and-match wardrobe, the outfit combinations increase many times over. Switching accessories and shoes can give your outfits new looks, too!
I have a pair of Ugg boots that have multiple uses. They are crocheted with 3 big buttons so you can wear them bunched up, un-buttoned, straight up, folded over, with shorts or a skirt or tuck your skinny pants into them… I wear them all year long! Look for items that you can wear with different styles.
My motto is be comfortable and cute! I always have a hooded sweatshirt with me, I have one in just about every color! I can wear a cute top and have a hoodie to match if I get cold. 9 out of 10 times, I have a hooded sweatshirt on. I also have many cardigans. This is a must item to have. You can dress these up and also dress them down. I’ve worn cashmere cardigans with ripped up denim and a Hane’s tank top… it works.

I’ve worked in retail for over 15 years. I have a wide variety of clothes in my collection! Sometimes I would buy something just because it was on sale or I’d buy a shirt and love it so much, I’d buy it in every color it came in! You know when you like something, might as well buy it while you can! I’ve worked at very high-end fashion stores and have many expensive tops or bottoms. I like to mix either up with something to “dull” it down and make it classy, yet casual. I hope whatever you choose to wear, make it your own and always be comfortable!
