My cat comes racing down the hall at full speed and when he reaches this carpet he digs his nails in and the carpet crumples up as he slides with the carpet.
Will he be mad when the carpet doesn’t crumple up during his slide? (UPDATE BELOW)
I was at Family Dollar and I saw this box of Ruggies, As Seen on TV, on an end cap in the store. The cat was going really crazy last night and whipping through the house so making the rug adhere to the floor was on my mind.
I bought one box and attached only two to the corners of the rug. I want to see if the two grippers will hold the rug in place or if the carpet needs all four corners held down (thanks little speed devil).
I will post after the cat tries it again and let you know if the two grippers held the carpet in place. LOL.
The box says the rug grippers are reusable and don’t leave any messy residue. Just press and stick! There were four in this box, but I couldn’t find a link on Family Dollar online to share with you. Boo! I did find a box of 8 grippers on Amazon and they are on sale. Check my affiliate link here: RUGGIES on Amazon. The 8-piece set on Amazon were under $10, on sale.
UPDATE: The rug grippers did not adhere well enough to the rug to keep the rug from moving. The rug moved off the grippers even before the cat had a chance to walk across it. But notice the yellow-backed triangles that came with the rug grippers: those are extra sticky grippers in cases where the regular rug grippers don’t stick to the carpet very well. Peel the yellow backing off the black triangle and put the sticky side on the back of the carpet. THEN stick the rug gripper to the sticky gripper on the carpet, press onto the floor, and it works. The cat just rolled around on the carpet and it didn’t move. But, I’m waiting for him to come screeching onto it at full speed, and then I will know if these grippers are worth it.
UPDATE 2: The carpet moved from the cat just rolling around on it. Then he did start running and making the carpet slide. Next up: I will put the grippers on the other two corners and see if that keeps the carpet from moving. The things we do!
