I posted quite a few reels this week showing a roasting laurel, a Maine snowstorm, snowstorm activities such as a self mani and doing a jigsaw puzzle; changing my Easter table over to spring decorations in which I used the best vacuum cleaner ever and also showed the giant wreath on the wall that I want to replace; and changing the Keurig filter. The story behind the roasting laurel is that family was coming over for a Sunday dinner. My brother’s girlfriend Renee gave us a 10+-pound turkey. My mother got out the roasting pan, but, oops, no rack! She thinks it might be at camp or it may have been thrown out. In any case, we didn’t have a rack. Then, I remembered this neat Pioneer Woman “roasting laurel” that takes the place of a rack. We used that and it worked perfect: the turkey was kept off the bottom of the roasting pan.

Auburn, Maine got 15 inches of snow in a recent two-day snowstorm that pretty much paralyzed many areas in Maine. There were more than 350,000 customers without electricity in Maine due to wires coming down. A lot of people didn’t have internet or cable TV. During the storm I gave myself a manicure and created a short reel showing the pink color I chose. I had a lot of fun taking down all the Easter decorations and the table settings because then I got to design spring-themed decorations. I’ll reveal those in a separate post. I shared a reel of the Easter decorations being put away. In that reel, you can see my vacuum cleaner. The vacuum cleaner that I love. The best vacuum cleaner I’ve used! Oh, this picture of the vacuum cleaner shows the six-in-one record player/cassette/cd/radio etc. I’ll have to post about that and make a reel.
You can also see the giant-size twig wreath on the wall in the Easter decoration takedown reel. That wreath has been hanging on that wall for about 30 years! My mother wants to change to something different. She’s thinking maybe a super large clock or a grouping of artwork.
The wall clock would have to be about 48 x 48 inches. It’s a large space to fill. She couldn’t find anything she liked that were large enough. She did see some Tree of Life plaques, but not big enough. There were some two- and three-panel art pieces of trees that she liked. Any suggestions? Send me a message or comment on social media. I’ll likely see your message there first. Now that you see what is going to be removed and the big space that needs to be filled, I’d love to hear your ideas.
I love the jigsaw puzzle board that I got. It’s set up in a great spot that gets good light. However, I discovered the puzzle has a piece missing and I’ve looked high and low and everywhere in between and still can’t find it. I used a flashlight and crawled around on the floor. The cats swimming puzzle is done and I’ve ordered the Frida Kahlo puzzle. Remember Frida? I wrote about her during National Women’s History Month (March). I guess I’ll have to put away the puzzle and include a note on the box that one piece is missing. Sad face.
Did you see my reel about changing the filter on my Keurig? I fill the Keurig from the faucet and so the filter adds protection from whatever might be in the city water I use. I usually buy my Keto Creamer at Big Lots, but I see now that Walmart carries it for the same price. Same with the Green Mountain coffee pods. I usually get them at the grocery store unless there’s a really big sale on them. I’ve bought pods as low as 25 cents each, which you don’t see too often. The coffee cup is a mystery. I think it may have been purchased at TJMaxx. Love that store! And I just have to use my brother to stir my coffee. This version comes with its own little stand.
One last update: the cat’s water fountain. He loves it. I just changed the filters on it last week. I used bottled purified water. The fountain takes 32 oz. to fill. I have found that some cats are really sensitive to tap water; they’ll get itchy skin and boogers in their eyes. That doesn’t happen with the purified water. Of course the fountain needs to be need a wall outlet since it’s an electric pump that runs it. This fountain is across from the cat’s food. I’ve just washed and refilled with two bottles of purified water. Lucky cat!
