There are so many helpful college dorm essentials checklists available, that a student should not miss any of the items that are needed to create a college dorm room equipped with everything. Colleges hand out these lists, individual stores make these lists, your parents will tell you what you need, other students will tell you what you need.
These items are from my Walmart Storefront #walmartcreator links. The nice thing about ordering these items from Walmart is the option to have them delivered or picked up in the store. If you’re already on campus, ordering and picking up in the store works out great for students who have transportation to the store.
Check out these items deemed essential in many college dorm room lists.
BEDDING:
Comforter (the kind you can throw over an unmade bed and it covers the fact that you haven’t pulled your sheets up and well, made your bed). Pillows for backrest and one (or more) to sleep on.
SHOWER:
You will need flipflop sandals to wear in the shower so you don’t catch foot fungus. Also, a bathrobe to wear when you go from the shower to getting dressed. You will also need a shower caddy to carry your bathing products: shampoo, conditioner, body soap, scrub, moisturizer, comb/brush). Towels: bath and face towels.
MAKE-UP:
You will at the very least need moisturizer and a mirror. Brush/comb. A hairdryer if you use one. Curling iron and/or straightener. Make-up organizer, either a case, bag, or wall-hanging roll-up organizer.
STUDY TOOLS:
Desk lamp. Alarm clock. Lap desk. Backpack to carry your books and snacks.
ROOM NEEDS/ YOUR NEEDS:
Mini fridge. Microwave. Hamper/laundry bag. Fans. Power strip. Hanging organizers (great for make-up, shoes, other items you can see at a glance). Wall mirror or make-up mirror. Clothes hangers. Water bottles.
These essentials are just a start to what you’ll need but they are most of the basic college dorm room most-used, most-needed items to have ready for move-in day. If you’re in an apartment-style dorm with roommates, if the college doesn’t supply desks and chairs and futons, you will need to discuss with your roommates who is getting what item.
