Does your dad like puzzles? Here’s a gift idea for the dad who has everything. Take a 4″ nail and pound it into a block of wood. Then try balancing 12 nails on the head of that nail in the block of wood! My dad is the one who showed me this puzzle so I know it’s dad approved.

I’ve asked my dad to make me these puzzles over the years and given them away as gifts. Sometimes I even put the whole puzzle set in a recycled bag such as an empty sugar bag or something similar. The recipient wonders what is inside that sugar bag! It’s very unique. Another time I used an empty dry cat food bag. This picture shows the whole puzzle set in a mesh bag (I think it was potatoes). I’ve noticed that the sets that can be purchased online come with varying numbers of nails to balance on the head of the stationary pin.
