Most adults who have the task of washing floors have heard of the Swiffer brand and probably used it or a knock-off. My brother had a Swiffer and then decided he wanted to let me have it, so I brought it to camp. As you can imagine, the floors at camp can get sandy and people often bring in pine needles on their shoes. I started buying fluffy, fuzzy footy socks at the dollar store (sometimes two pairs for $1.00!) and stretching them over the mop head.
This wonderful life hack enables me to decide if I want to rinse and wash the sock or if there’s too much stuff in it, I can toss it.
Swiffer refill pads are easy to find and not expensive, but it’s the convenience of using these footies that I love so much. I will never run out of a cover for the mop head again!
And the Swiffer brand is decent and sturdy. Refills are everywhere and inexpensive. This is a good cleaning tool to have in your supply closet. Swiffer also sells refills specifically made for hardwood floors, too.
Let me know which floor mop brand you use and why you like it. Also, let me know if you are going to try the sock over the mop head. It works on most brands!
