A summer-themed table could be bright and vibrant, similar to the colors found in the summer garden. Start with a bright yellow and white gingham tablecloth.
I’ve used bright yellow dinner plates topped with orange dessert plates with a yellow Solo cup sitting on top. Beneath all the plates and cup is a colorful straw placemat. I used one in each vibrant color: orange, hot pink, lime green, jewel blue, red, and purple.
Keeping with the plastic theme so that this table can be set up indoors or outdoors, I used plastic margarita glasses at each table setting, in alternating colors of hot pink and lime green. For the kiddies you can fill those glasses with apple juice with a strawberry floating in it or sparkling grape juice. Kids love that stuff!
You can either use fake cacti or really bold, vibrant-colored flowers, including sunflowers. I also like chunky wooden candle holders painted bright colors. You can use the candle holders to display summer centerpieces such as the cacti, owls, bright candles, and flowers.
I strung mini bright lanterns that light via batteries on the chandelier over my table. Isn’t that chandelier awesome?!
