52-Week Cleaning, Organizing & Decluttering Challenge
Hey friends! 💛
Welcome to Week 30 of our 52-Week Cleaning, Organizing & Decluttering Challenge! I’m so glad you’re here—and I love sharing helpful tips, expert advice, and a few of my favorite little hacks each week to make this journey easier (and even a little fun!).
This week we’re heading into the heart of the home: the kitchen—specifically, baking supplies. Whether you’re an everyday baker or you only break out the cookie sheets around the holidays, chances are your baking zone could use a refresh. Let’s roll up our sleeves and make it shine!
🍰 This Week’s Focus: Clean & Organize Baking Supplies
Here’s your simple checklist for the week:
✅ 1. Sort Through Dry Baking Ingredients
Pull out your flour, sugar, cocoa, sprinkles, and more.
-
Check expiration dates and toss anything that’s old or clumpy.
-
Consolidate open packages.
-
Transfer staples into airtight containers to keep them fresher longer.
💡 Dana’s Tip: I love these clear, stackable containers with chalkboard labels! (Amazon affiliate link: click here) It makes the whole pantry look and feel more put together. I suggest a piece of tape on bottom of container with expiration date. Remember that some foods expire two weeks after opening.
And here’s another set, similar, good for cereal, legumes, other food items that need to be poured. Amazon affiliate link https://amzn.to/45ZTuSn
✅ 2. Tidy Up Baking Pans and Tools
Time to give your pans and gadgets some love:
-
Group like items together—muffin tins, cake pans, cookie sheets.
-
Donate duplicates or pans you never use.
-
Give everything a good wipe down or run it through the dishwasher if needed.
-
Store upright in a rack or vertically with dividers.
🧁 Hack I Love: A bakeware rack (like this one Amazon affiliate link) can turn chaotic cabinets into beautifully organized spaces. I bought two of these racks and it has helped keep the pots and pans so organized, more than anything else. Now I need to organize the lids a little better, but see, small steps? These racks can be used for your cookie sheets and muffin tins, as well!

✅ 3. Clean and Organize the Pantry
-
Wipe down shelves and sweep the floor underneath.
-
Store smaller items like cupcake liners or cookie cutters in bins or baskets.
-
Label shelves or containers for easy grab-and-go access.
👩🍳 Favorite Find: This rotating turntable (Amazon affiliate link: click here) is a game-changer for small pantry corners!

Also, here are two styles of cookie cutter organizers. Select the one best for your pantry and whether or not kids will need to open and close the organizer. Love kids baking cookies!

✅ 4. Organize Your Kitchen Drawers
Don’t skip this step!
-
Take everything out. Yes—everything.
-
Toss anything broken or rarely used.
-
Wipe down the drawers and reline if needed.
-
Use drawer organizers to separate measuring spoons, piping tips, and other tools.
✨ Dana’s Drawer Hack: Bamboo drawer dividers (like these) can be adjusted to fit and keep things from sliding around!
🎯 Why This Matters
These bite-sized weekly tasks may seem small, but repetition builds habits—and that’s what this challenge is really about. Every little action you take is another step toward a calmer, more functional home. And remember: it doesn’t have to be perfect. Life is meant to be enjoyed, so don’t stress if you miss a day. Just jump back in when you can. 💛
