🎨 Painted Rocks Make Great Gifts for Dad!
Hey friends!
Let’s talk about painted rocks—yep, good ol’ rocks! Once you add a little color, creativity, and heart, they become something really special. Whether you’re making a thoughtful gift for Father’s Day (hi, Dad!) or leaving a cheerful message for a stranger to find, this easy DIY project brings BIG smiles—and you don’t need to be “artsy” to join the fun. 💕

🪨 Why Painted Rocks?
Painted rocks are more than just cute—they’re part of a sweet little movement called The Kindness Rocks Project. It started with one woman painting encouraging words on rocks and leaving them along the beach. Now? It’s worldwide! People of all ages create message rocks and hide them in parks, at trailheads, near store entrances—wherever someone might stumble upon one and feel just a little brighter.
Messages like:
-
You’ve got this.
-
Keep going.
-
Be kind to yourself today.
I mean, how can you not love that?

🧔 A Rock for Dad 💙
With Father’s Day coming up, you can also make a rock just for Dad! Here are a few fun ideas:
-
Paint his favorite sports team logo 🎯
-
Write “#1 Dad” or a personal inside joke
-
Make a mini portrait of Dad with a mustache and grill tools—go wild!
Paint it, seal it, and wrap it up with a smile. It’s a simple and heartfelt gift from the hands of someone who loves him most. Decorate plain brown sandwich bags as a gift bag. Wrap the gift rock(s) in tissue paper. The bag can be painted or colored with crayons, markers, pencils, and stickers. More fun!

🖌️ What You’ll Need (And Where to Get It!)
You only need a few basics to get started:
✔️ Rock Painting Starter List:

Smooth, clean rocks (look for river rocks or grab a bag from the craft aisle)
-
Acrylic paints (bold colors work best!)
-
Paintbrushes – I like using a mix of sponge brushes for backgrounds and bristle brushes for details.
-
Clear sealer spray or Mod Podge to make it weatherproof!
