Here’s Why Grown-Ups Are Grabbing Their Crayons, Too
Did you know that August 2nd is officially National Coloring Book Day? It was started in 2015 by Dover Publications—one of the original coloring book publishers—and it’s become a fun reminder that coloring isn’t just for kids anymore.
I mean, sure, I loved coloring as a child (who didn’t have a favorite crayon?), but these days, adult coloring books are everywhere—and for good reason. Coloring is relaxing, creative, and weirdly satisfying. It’s like meditation with a splash of hot pink.
Many adults use coloring to de-stress, wind down before bed, or just take a screen-free mental break. There’s something so soothing about filling in a page, especially when you’re not trying to be perfect. Plus, adult coloring books now come in every style—from intricate mandalas and floral designs to funny quotes and beautiful seasonal scenes.
If you’re new to it or just want to treat yourself to something colorful and calming, check out the books, pens, and pages I recommended in this earlier post. (Yes, some of those are Amazon affiliate links, which means if you decide to grab one, it helps support the blog at no extra cost to you!)
