Week 41: Office – Organize Desk Drawers & Supplies
Is it just me, or do desk drawers have a sneaky way of turning into mini junk drawers? Pens that don’t work, mystery paper clips, sticky notes that have lost their stick… somehow they all end up living together in one tangled mess. This week’s challenge is all about taking back control of your desk space so you can actually find things when you need them.
Step 1: Empty and Sort
Pull everything out of your desk drawers (yes, everything). Group like items together — pens with pens, notebooks with notebooks, and so on. Toss or recycle anything that’s broken, outdated, or just doesn’t serve you anymore.

Step 2: Deep Clean
Wipe down the inside of each drawer and the desk surface itself. You’ll be amazed at how refreshing it feels when even the hidden spaces sparkle.
Step 3: Organize and Re-home
Put items back in a way that makes sense for how you actually use them. Everyday items should be within reach, while extras can be tucked away neatly. Drawer organizers, small bins, or even repurposed jars can make a big difference here.

Step 4: Paperwork Patrol
This is also the perfect time to sort through files and paperwork. Shred what you don’t need, file what’s important, and consider going digital with things you rarely access.

A little motivation boost…
After months of planning, designing, editing, and organizing (so. much. organizing), I’m thrilled to finally share something I’ve been working on behind the scenes…
Living With Dana’s 52-Week Challenge Journal is officially available on Amazon!

This is more than just a planner or a cleaning schedule — it’s a gentle, motivating, week-by-week guide to help you take back your space (and your sanity). If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by clutter, unsure where to start, or just too busy to stay on top of things, this journal was made for you.
Think of it as a cheerleader in book form — keeping you on track, celebrating small wins, and reminding you that progress (not perfection!) is the goal.
So let’s clear those drawers, freshen up the desk, and give ourselves the gift of a workspace that actually feels good to sit down at.
Tell me in the comments — what’s the strangest thing you’ve found in your desk drawer? (I once found three hotel pens, a granola bar, and… a sock. Don’t ask.)
Have a great day! Make it awesome!
xoxo, Dana 💛
