Simplify Your Life: 5 Little Changes That Make a Big Difference

Do you ever feel like life has a little too much of everything at the same time? Too many to-dos, too much clutter, too many tabs open (on your phone and in your brain)?
Same here.

This week, I’ve been thinking a lot about what it really means to simplify. Not to overhaul your entire life overnight — just to take small, gentle steps toward calm. Because sometimes the best thing you can do for yourself is to make life a little easier to live.

Here are a few tiny shifts that make a surprisingly big difference:

🌿 1. Simplify Your Space

Start with the spot you see first thing in the morning. Maybe it’s your nightstand, the bathroom counter, or that one chair where things magically pile up. Clear it off, wipe it down, and breathe.

Bonus: Keep a small “donate” basket handy — anything that doesn’t serve you can move right along to someone else who’ll love it.

🕰️ 2. Simplify Your Time

Write down three things that actually matter to you each day. Just three.
If you get those done, you’ve had a successful day. Everything else? That’s optional.

📱 3. Simplify Your Screen Time

Try a “no scroll” hour before bed — light a candle, read a few pages, or just sit quietly and let your mind wander. You’ll be amazed how much more rested you feel in the morning.

🧺 4. Simplify Your Routines

Batch small things together — start the dishwasher before bed, set out tomorrow’s outfit, toss a load of laundry in while your coffee brews.

Little habits save so much mental energy.

💖 5. Simplify Your Expectations

This one’s the hardest, but it might matter most. You don’t have to do it all, fix it all, or organize it all today.
Progress counts. Grace counts. You count.

I made a one-page “Simplify Your Life” checklist to help you take these small steps, one by one. It’s printable, easy to use, and the perfect way to reset your week.

✨ Subscribers get it free (link will be in next week’s newsletter so you have time to subscribe!)

🛍️ You can also find it in my Etsy shop if you missed the free offer to subscribers of my newsletter.

Because simplifying isn’t about giving things up — it’s about getting back to what matters.

If you sign up for my free newsletter before Oct. 13, 2025, all subscribers on that day will receive a link to download the checklist for free! Subscriber forms are on almost every page of this blog. Enter your email address if you want to receive my newsletter once a week.
