Welcome to Habit + Home — One Year to a Smarter Space

Habit + Home: 1 Year to a Smarter Space
One habit. One zone. One step at a time.

Hey friends! I’ve been dreaming up something new for the coming year — something gentler than a full-on house overhaul, but way more powerful than a random weekly cleaning prompt.

You can follow along with this year’s challenges in my new book “Habit + Home” which is available on Amazon. 👉 You can find it here:

Welcome to the Habit + Home Challenge — a year-long, low-pressure series designed to help you build a home that supports your life instead of bossing you around. We’re talking progress, not perfection. Calm over chaos. Systems that work even when life is bananas.

This isn’t just “clean this room.”

It’s build a system that keeps you comfortable all year long.

Think:

  • Organization without punishment
  • Structure without stress
  • Small wins that actually stick

How the Challenge Works

Each month includes four focused Projects — small enough to feel doable, meaningful enough to create real change.

Every Project includes:

1. A Small, Achievable Task
A drawer. A surface. A quick reset. Tiny-but-mighty steps that make you think, Oh — I can totally do that.

2. A Habit to Build Alongside It
Because tidy spaces don’t stay tidy without systems. Over the year we’ll practice simple, real-life habits like:

  • The Evening Reset
  • A Mail + Paper Sweep
  • The Sunday Set-Up
  • The One-Minute Rule
  • A 15-Minute Home Tidy

You’re not just tidying — you’re creating a rhythm your future self will thank you for.

3. A Tracker Prompt
Use any planner, journal, or printable habit tracker to mark your progress. Check a box. Jot a note. Celebrate the fact that you showed up.

Why This Challenge Works

Because it taps into three things we already want:

  • A more organized space
  • A calmer mind
  • Routines that hold up even on busy, messy, very-real weeks

This series pairs perfectly with our Wednesday cleaning and organizing posts — while giving us room to explore habits, mindset shifts, and the little systems that make everyday life smoother.

Bottom line?
A simpler home. A less stressful life. One project at a time.

Let me know how things are working out for you! xoxo, Dana
