Gardening: Still looking for raised garden bed ideas!

I’ve been all over the internet looking for raised garden bed ideas. If you’ve been using a raised garden for a while and it’s working for you, share a photo or drop me a line. I’d hate to build something only to find out it’s not the best plan. I’m looking for raised garden beds in which I can grow cucumbers because I want to make pickles! Also, leaf lettuce, tomatoes, string beans, radishes, green peppers — the usual salad vegetables that will grow in Maine.

An irrigation system that’s not complicated and doesn’t leave the garden dry: you have a plan? Let me know!

I was just on this site looking at various raised garden bed ideas. What do you think? Is one better than the other?

  1. Hi Dana, we have three raised garden beds at home – each is 4×8 foot, about 2-3 feet tall. In one I have perenial asparagus and strawberries. The other two I use twine to separate into 1-foot squares and plant one thing in each square. One tomato or tomitillo plant, one herb, one flower. Only exception is garlic, I’ll place 9 in one square. For pictures visit my Facebook album called “My Gardens – mes jardins”. Happy planning
