Purge:
Get rid of items because your style changed or the item is broken. It goes in the donation OR garbage pile.
Use clear plastic bins and labels.
Label everything!
Use sticky notes, tags, and be specific. Create a master list of items with descriptions and use a page projector. Keep it in your household inventory notebook.
Ornaments:
Keep colors together. You never know when you will change your mind about what color combinations you like and don’t like.
Lights:
Wrap cords around a piece of wood or cardboard to keep the lights from tangling. A coat hanger can be used and then hung or placed in storage bin. Wrap small lights around empty gift wrap paper roll.
Wrapping paper:
Use a tall laundry basket and keep dust out by covering with a clear trash bag.
Ribbons and tissue paper:
Store in clear bins with labels.
Linens:
Use coat hangers if you have a storage closet or fold in bins. Add dryer sheets to keep the linens smelling fresh or store in scented trash bags. Make sure to tag the bags.
