We got our rescue Ragdoll cat in October 2023 and he was already six years old. He was friendly right from the start and we were in love. We noticed he was not drinking from the water bowl and so most of his food: dry and canned was mixed with a little water to make sure he was getting SOME water.

Fast forward to three months later and I can say that I’ve seen the cat drinking from the fountain. He doesn’t drink from the pooled water; he drinks from the water coming down the sides of the fountain. I started out using the fountain with the butterfly inserted at all times, but it’s noisier than without, so we don’t use the butterfly much anymore. The butterfly turns the water into a true spurting fountain.
Just recently I bought filter refills for the fountain. These filters are important so that the water fountain doesn’t become slimy.

My cat has dry skin
Now I am wondering about my cat Bella’s dry skin. She is a tiger cat. I will be bringing her to the vet if extra grooming doesn’t help. I wonder, too, if the cold weather and having the furnace on in the winter might dry out her skin.
